Wood produced in our factory in Neiva- Viana do Castelo Portugal

Pine is also known as tea pine or mobila nueva in Spain, and as yellow pine or southern yellow pine in the USA. This type of wood has been imported from the southeast of the United States, specifically from the Alabama seaport, called Mobile, hence its meaning, and from Spain directly from the port of Valencia, for many years now.

Pine wood has a whitish or pale yellow sapwood, although it may also have a pale orange hue. On the other hand, the heartwood is distinguished by a yellow-orange, or reddish-brown or light brown tone. The growth rings are visible and their color changes with each season of the year, with a contrast that stands out between spring and summer.

Pine wood is a very straight fiber wood, classified as semi-hard or hard.

Being a hard material, yellow pine wood is quite resistant to weather, wear and fungus attack, although it is sensitive to termites.

It is a type of wood that has been used in buildings and furniture in the Levante area for many years. The doors and windows of old buildings, as well as the furniture inside, feature a large amount of what is known as madeira mobila vieja (referring to antique furniture). Now, wood mobila nueva (referring to modern furniture) is used, which is lighter, cheaper and lighter in color. The sapwood wood is impregnable and the heartwood is little or not impermeable, so it is usually used in its natural color with additional varnishes.

In addition to conventional uses similar to those of other types of pine wood, it is also very popular in Spain for general carpentry. It is an easy to work wood and features a fine finish for any type of indoor or outdoor equipment.
